Es gibt tolle Neuigkeiten von den drei Traumfrauen aus UK! Dream Wife veröffentlichen heute ihre neue Single „Sports!“ und kündigen gleichzeitig ihr zweites Album für Anfang Juli an. Die neue Single kommt in quietsch-bunter Optik daher.
Nachdem sie fast 200 Shows in 2018 gespielt hatten, wurde es ein wenig ruhiger um die drei Damen mit Wohnsitz in London. Jetzt gibt es das erste Lebenszeichen. Dream Wife haben mit „Sports!“ ein buntes Video in Eigenregie produziert, welches nicht nur visuell, sondern auch inhaltlich zu überzeugen weiß.
Doch damit nicht genug! Am 3. Juli wird ihr zweites Album „So When You Gonna…“ erneut bei Lucky Number Music erscheinen.
Gegen die männliche Dominanz
Eine weitere Besonderheit ist das Team hinter dem Video. Sohn wurden ausschließlich Frauen in die Produktion involviert. In der leider immer noch stark von Männern dominierte Musik-Szene war Dream Wife wichtig auch hier ein Zeichen zu setzen.

“Sports! sits on multiple levels; of satire and celebration, of nonsense and commonsense, of the body and the mind, of IRL and digital. The video simultaneously plays with and celebrates ’sports‘ through multiple levels of reality and non-reality; exploring the nonsense of sports, toying with the seriousness of competition and the rigidity of rules while also asserting how important it is to be in your body, the joy of being in a team, the purpose in doing something for the sake of doing it, the endorphins and the sweat. Playing sports is great if that’s for you but there are so many other ways to be physical, to be with your body. For us, more often than not, it’s the rock show. Rock n roll is an extreme sport and we’re a team.”
